LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: Jerry Schill

There have been no fisheries related bill introduced this week, as of end of business on Wednesday.

H-169, The bill to make the Loggerhead Sea Turtle the state reptile is in the House Environment Committee.

The draft shellfish bill is still under review.

THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION

Last week we listed the entire list of candidates and encouraged folks that are in the Third District to attend candidate forums or individual candidate meet and greet or fund raisers to meet them and learn more.

CANDIDATE FORUM IN NEW BERN

The Coastal Carolina Taxpayers Association is holding a candidates’ forum on Friday, March 22nd at the Craven Community College in New Bern, Orringer Auditorium, 6:00pm.
Candidate Greg Murphy is having an event at a home in New Bern on Saturday, March 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Contact Lynda Blount for info: (252) 714-1164.

CANDIDATE FORUM IN NEW BERN

On April 15th, the following have agreed to speak to the God and Country Christian Alliance: Phil Law, Michelle Nix, Michael Speciale, Shannon Bray and Gary Ceres. I expect others will be added to that list as well.
If you know of any events for the Third District candidates, please let us know. The primary is April 30th!
