The NC Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) will be holding an in-person workshop-style meeting for several days the week of July 24th during normal business hours, tentatively located in New Bern. At this meeting, scientists, managers, and stakeholders will work together to draft potential striped mullet management measures for draft Amendment 2.

Applications are available online at the link below, at DMF offices, or by calling 252-808-8022 or 800-682-2632.

Applications need to be returned by May 19th by email to MFC@ncdenr.gov or by mail to N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557, Attention: Paula Farnell.

If you have questions, contact the Fishery Management Plan Coordinator, Corrin Flora, at Corrin.Flora@ncdenr.gov or 252-808-8014 or Paula Farnell at 252-808-8022.

This is another great opportunity to get involved in the process. It is very important to have the perspective of striped mullet fishermen from all coastal regions to understand and appreciate what each region needs to help make this fishery successful for everyone.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Not much happened last week in the General Assembly as they had a very light week, but business will be back to normal this week.
