LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: 6.5.2023

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

There’s a lot going on in the General Assembly, most of it with the budget. We’re working on some fish stuff but nothing that is specifically a fish bill, just part of something else. We’re also keeping tabs on H-655, the fishing license bill that we don’t like. It has not been scheduled for any committee deliberations as of now.

As for the length of the session, the hope was to get out of town by the end of June but I keep hearing that it may go longer. Regardless, I’m moving the RV back to New Bern at the end of the month and if they’re still in session, travel there as needed.

The Knights of Columbus at my home church in Pennsylvania held a sporting raffle last weekend. Thanks to all who bought tickets. Of the 52 I sold, there were 2 guys winning 3 items. Senator Bobby Hanig won some cash and Representative Keith Kidwell won some cash and a rifle. Congratulations to Bobby & Keith!

God bless,

Jerry
