NCFA ANNUAL MEETING

Thank you to those who took the time to attend NCFA’s Meet & Greet on Sunday evening and the Annual Meeting on Monday! Special thanks to Senator Bob Steinburg, Rep. Ed Goodwin, Rep. Bobby Hanig and Dare County Commissioners, Wally Overman, Steve House, and Ervin Bateman for attending the Meet & Greet.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

The General Assembly’s “long session” begins this coming Wednesday, January 30th at noon. We expect things will be a bit slow at first but will get just a bit busy as the days move on. Deliberations may be just a little longer now that there are no “super majorities” in the Senate or House, meaning if the Governor vetoes a bill, there’s a much less chance of an override. Still, maybe we can hope for an adjournment before August 1st !

Committee assignments for the Senate are on the website but not for the House.

Tradewinds Needs You!

If you would be interested writing an article for Tradewinds, being our featured “Marketplace” or “Captain’s Spotlight”, please email aundrea@ncfish.org. Send in your fishing photo’s for future issues of Tradewinds or for a chance to have it as our Facebook cover photo. I’d love to hear from you and would love to learn more about our members. Help us showcase your communities fishing heritage.
