Loss of an Industry Champion
Our industry lost a true champion, Sherrill Styron of Garland F. Fulcher Seafood Co., in Oriental, NC passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Sherrill was a valued member and friend of NCFA for years. He will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
NCFA Board and Staff send our sincere condolences to The Styron family.

SAFMC Social and Economic Panel
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s (SAFMC) Social and Economic Panel meets this week in Charleston, SC. The meeting is also available to listen to online and there will be an opportunity for public comment at the beginning of the meeting on Monday.

Scientific and Statistical Committee
The SAFMC Science and Statistical Committee (SSC) will also meet this week in Charleston, SC. The meeting will be available to listen to online. Multiple opportunities are scheduled for public comment. General comment is scheduled for the beginning of the meeting and a second general comment opportunity at the end of the day Thursday.
