The House approved its version of the budget in the wee hours of Friday morning, June 2nd. Since there are significant differences between the Senate and House versions of the budget, conferees will hammer out the differences. The House version did not contain any of the special provisions on fisheries issues that were in the Senate budget.
In the meantime, there was no activity on H-867 in the House due to the budget deliberations.

The North Carolina Republican Party held its state convention this weekend in Wilmington. Chairman Robin Hayes prevailed and was re-elected for a four year term. He was challenged by Jim Womack.
